The Rotary Club of Iponri was sponsored by the Rotary Club of Surulere South and had its charter on the 4th of August 1987 with Late Rotarian 'Lawon Afolabi as the Charter President

Rot. Ademola Akinbola is the President of Rotary Club of Iponri (2025-2026). His classification is Public Relations. Rot. Akinbola is a seasoned brand, communication, and reputation management specialist with three decades of active professional engagement. He is also an Author of 6 books and the Publisher of The Podium International Magazine (www.thepodiummedia.com). He is the Founder of Brand Stewards Limited, a brand development and management consultancy operating in Nigeria and the United Kingdom; and the Nigerian Brand Academy, an online knowledge sharing platform established to support career professionals and entrepreneurs with contemporary ideas in the areas of career and business branding.
Kelvin holds an MSc in Mass Communication from the University of Lagos and a BA from the University of Nigeria, Nsukka. An associate member of ARCON, his expertise spans creative design, PR, content development, digital engagement, and project management. He has worked on top multinational brands including Guinness, Orijin, Blueband, Dangote, and Mr Biggs. A visionary leader, Kelvin founded the Agama Group, comprising four commercial firms, and leads Agama Global Marketing Ltd as Team Lead and Director of New Business. He is also the founder of GroundZero (Agama Foundation), a creative incubator supporting SMEs and startups, and serves as Director at SAME Foundation and Mercy Iheoma Foundation, demonstrating a strong commitment to innovation, social impact, and leadership
PAG. ’Bayo Adewakun is a distinguished Architect with over 43 years of practice and founder of B-Waks Consultants, a 40-year-old firm behind several landmark structures including the Rotary Centre, Ikeja GRA. A Fellow of the Nigerian Institute of Architects and an ICOBA Merit Award recipient, he studied Architecture at the University of Lagos and attended management programs at Harvard Business School. In Rotary, PAG ’Bayo has maintained 38 years of unbroken service with the Rotary Club of Iponri since its charter in 1987. A Past Assistant Governor and 2nd Level Major Donor of The Rotary Foundation, he is celebrated for his commitment, leadership, and philanthropy, earning multiple Rotary awards for his integrity and passion..
Ayodeji Adekunle is a Mechanical Engineer and Senior Vehicle Inspection Officer with the Lagos State Ministry of Transportation, where he ensures safety, compliance, and efficiency in the sector. He is passionate about system optimization, youth empowerment, and sustainable development. A dedicated Rotarian with the Rotary Club of Iponri, Ayodeji has served as Club Secretary (2019–2020), President (2020–2021), and currently as Public Image Chair and DEWEF Scholarship Committee Chairman. As President during the COVID-19 pandemic, he modernized club operations with hybrid meetings and digital systems. Under his DEWEF leadership, the club secured 11 of 20 district scholarships worth ₦2.75 million. Recognized for detail, leadership, and people skills, he remains committed to Rotary’s mission of service above self..
Jeremiah Nyanyan aka Jerry Boy is a trained Safety, Renewable Energy and Security Professional. After 10 years in the corporate sector, he founded Jerry Surveillance and Security Solutions where he provides security surveillance such as CCTV, Fire & Burglary Alarm, PABX and electrical installations such as Solar and inverters. A past president of the club and a very dedicated member who has served in various capacity as well.
